Job Summary An expeditor coordinates the flow of food production, ticket times, and presentation of food items set in the pick-up window. He/she facilitates the proper communication between the cooks and the front of house team members. An expeditor assists servers with tableside service as needed, and ensures quality service to all guests. Job Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate food orders to support timely and efficient delivery to each table. Ensure ticket cook times meet or exceed high standards. Communicate between the service staff and kitchen staff. Complete all plate presentations per the plate presentation specifications with portion control, garnish, temperature, and clean tableware. Meeting special guest requests while ensuring high-quality standards. Ensure expeditor area is stocked and ready for service and clean and organized following service. Designate/or delegate food runners for efficient delivery of food items to proper table and seat number. Monitor all food returned, and alerts management to concerns and assists in documentation of food waste logs. Assist all positions as necessary to promote positive teamwork. Greet guests in a professional and friendly manner. Know and practice all health and safety practices and procedures. Perform side work duties as assigned or requested by Supervisor or Manager. Learn menu items preparations, including features. Perform the position of food runner as needed. Perform other duties as required. Job Specifications Competencies: Restaurant experience required. ServSafe Certification preferred, but not required. Clear and concise verbal communication skills. Able to read labels and directions. Self-directed and able to maximize use of time and resources. Ability to work under pressure and take initiative in a fast-paced environment. Dependable and meets goals. Exemplifies professional conduct and adherence to company Core Values. Education: High School or equivalent required. Physical & Other Requirements: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Evenings, weekends, and holidays are a regular part of the schedule. Must have excellent attendance and conduct record for consideration. Non-smoking candidates preferred.
