Knowledge of food handling and sanitation procedures. A person, who under the supervision of the kitchen manager, performs the various tasks necessary to prepare, serve and clean up after the school food service meals. High school diploma/GED. Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. Must have own transportation and be able to read and follow instructions. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists in preparation and serving food in a quick and pleasant manner. Produces quality food products and follows standardized recipes closely Operates a variety of equipment, including grinder, mixer, oven, range, dishwasher, steam kettle, slicer, etc. When tasks are completed checks with manager and others for instruction to help others. Team players are essential in all successful operations. Assist in general daily clean up of the kitchen and service areas. Assists in major cleaning or refrigerators and storerooms at regularly scheduled intervals as requested. Attends relevant training classes and workshops in order to maintain food service knowledge Assists with the proper storage and disposal of unused foods. Deals with students, parents, staff, and others in a positive encouraging manner. Knows and follows school policy and chain of command. Acts ethically and confidentially in all aspects of employment.
