Job Title: On-call Banquet Server Job Summary: As a banquet server, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality food and beverage service to guests attending various events. Your primary duties will include setting up banquet rooms, serving food and beverages, clearing tables, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the event. Responsibilities: Setup and Preparation: Arrange tables, chairs, linens, and other necessary equipment according to event specifications. Ensure the banquet area is clean, organized, and properly set up before guests arrive. Assist with the preparation of food and beverages as needed. Service: Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner upon arrival. Take orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring special dietary needs and preferences are accommodated. Serve food and beverages promptly and courteously, adhering to service standards. Monitor tables and anticipate guest needs, providing refills and clearing plates promptly. Address any guest concerns or special requests in a timely and courteous manner. Teamwork: Collaborate with other banquet servers, bartenders, kitchen staff, and event coordinators to ensure seamless service. Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate service and prioritize tasks. Assist with cleanup and breakdown of banquet rooms at the conclusion of events. Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices. Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times, including adherence to uniform standards. Follow alcohol service policies and procedures, ensuring responsible beverage service. Qualifications: Previous experience in food and beverage service preferred, especially in a banquet or catering environment. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with guests. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods. Lift and carry heavy trays of food and beverages. Bend, stoop, and reach overhead to perform various tasks. Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including hot kitchens and crowded banquet rooms. Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Certifications: Food Handler's Permit or ServSafe Certification may be required, depending on local regulations.
