The barback position functions under the supervision of and in coordination with the Director of Food & Beverage. This position is required to provide outstanding guest service and assist the bartenders by replacing kegs, restocking cups and other supplies needed to make drinks, and maintaining a clean bar area throughout the shift.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Ensures guests receive immediate, friendly, and personalized service to enhance their experience.
- Builds rapport with guests through conversation and name recognition.
- Ensures portion control and maintains appropriate serving temperatures of all products served.
- Communicates with bartenders, anticipating their needs.
- Moves with a sense of urgency.
- Keeps the bar stocked with beer, wine, liquor, syrups, cups, utensils, and all other necessary items.
- Keeps bar stocked with garnishes, ice, cups, napkins, straws, etc. throughout the shift.
- Clean up spills, remove trash and organize the bar area as needed.
- Maintains the bar and keeps it clean and organized.
- Maintains cleanliness of utensils and bar equipment.
- Cleans coolers and rotates stock, as needed.
- Ensures alcohol is consumed in designated areas only.
- Completes all opening, running and closing duties as assigned.
- Stays up to date on upcoming shows or events to answer guest questions.
- Maintains guest satisfaction by answering questions thoroughly, handling complaints or directing them to a manager, and providing information about the venue.
- Adheres to responsible alcohol service established by company policy.
- Adheres to all relevant health department rules and regulations.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures as established in the Employee Policy Manual.
The above-listed duties are not all inclusive. This position is expected to perform other work-related duties as assigned even though they may not be considered primary duties. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Experience Required:- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, preferred
- Valid Server Permit from TABC; must obtain permit individually and provide proof of possession upon hire.
- Must pass a criminal background check
Skills and Knowledge Required- Must be at least the minimum age required to serve alcohol.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Excellent service orientation.

- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good command of the English language.
- Strong knowledge of drink preparation or service.

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.

Physical Requirements:- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high energy, and physically demanding environment.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and reach for prolonged periods.
- Must be able to push, pull and lift objects from a lower to higher position or move objects horizontally, from position to position.
- Must be able to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing or crouching in narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.
- Must be able to carry loads greater than 35 pounds and exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently.
- Will be required to use physical capabilities including climbing and ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.
- Able to hear sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
- Able to work in environment with moderate to high noise levels.
- Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Able to work varied shifts, including evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
