Job Description

The Athletic Club of Columbus (ACC) is seeking an experienced Host to join our team. As an iconic establishment rich in tradition and history since 1912, we strive to provide a haven of relaxation, hospitality, and casual elegance for our members. The Host is integral to this mission, ensuring memorable and enjoyable experiences for our members and guests.


Responsibilities


As a Host, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Greeting and seating members and their guests, controlling the flow of traffic into and out of the restaurant and bar area.
  • Overseeing daily restaurant reservations, pre-assigning seating when necessary, and communicating with management, service staff and kitchen regarding special needs, and requests.
  • Addressing complaints or issues promptly and relaying relevant information or complaints directly to the supervisor.
  • Ensuring that the dining room is properly set up prior to and after the service period and keeping the area clean and neat while meeting.
  • Endeavor to know or learn the names of our members.

Qualifications


The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Previous experience in restaurant or hotel industry
  • Rudimentary knowledge of wine, alcohol, and menu items. Ability and willingness to learn more.
  • Timeliness, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
  • Physical capabilities: standing, walking, and sitting for long periods.
  • Positive attitude and strong communication skills required.

  • FSLA Status: Non-Exempt
  • Shift Schedule Any (M - Sat 10:30 AM - 3:00 PM; 4:30 PM- 9:30 PM)
