Cook Job Summary: Here at BridgePoint the Cook prepares and serves food using proper food handling and food safety techniques for patients, employees and special events, resulting in foods that taste good, are served at the proper temperature, and in an attractive manner in accordance with established standards. Maintains a clean and safe working environment in accordance with established standards. Coordinates and assists in the overall functions of the Food Service department. Works with the Registered Dietitian to ensure the provision of adequate nutrition services for quality patient care. Coordinates with the Director to ensure the daily operations of the dietary department are carried out. Prepares, seasons and cooks food for facility patients, employees, visitors, and for special functions. Dietary, Healthcare Cook, Hospital Cook, Chef, Healthcare Chef, Hospital Chef, Culinary, Dietary Services, Food Management Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; experience cooking ( 2 years) required in lieu of education. Able to read and write in English language. Licenses/Certification: Food Management Certificate required within 6 months of employment Experience: Possess the basic understanding of modified diets, and three years in commercial or institutional food preparation, or two years' experience in an assistant cook position, or an Associate's Degree or equivalent in Culinary Arts.
