Event Kitchen Manager

The Stovall House is looking for a Kitchen Manager to work with our Banquet Chef to execute our events. The Event Kitchen Manager will act as the second in command to our Banquet Chef. This leader should maintain and develop the highest level of member relations. This leader is responsible for following and enforcing our Executive Chef and Banquet Chefs requirements and guidelines. You will be expected to use creativity and professionalism when motivating the banquet staff to complete prep, and or complete events.

Your duties will include employee development, organization of events, creating prep lists, working on order forms, keeping the prep area clean and organized, ensuring storage area stays clean and organized, and help create new and innovative ways to continue to make our events outstanding. Excellent communication skills are imperative to success in this role. The Event Kitchen Manager is required to work all of the major events in house and be able to run small parties alone when the Banquet Chef is out.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to have a flexible schedule, work weekends and holidays.
  • 1 Year previous Kitchen Manager experience or more
  • 2 Years previous catering experience focusing on large catering
  • Understanding of Banquet Event Orders
  • Worked in a fine dining or upscale dining environment.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Works well with others

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting managers and organizers with planning the layout and logistics of events.
  • Setting up and managing staff shifts and timetables.
  • Developing and providing staff with the necessary training, including customer service and serving etiquette.
  • Managing the setup of events.
  • Monitoring the inventory of supplies, and equipment.

Physical Responsibilities:
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
