Soleil Server - AM Shifts

Marriott San Diego Gaslamp is seeking an experienced server to join their team! This position is part-time and pays $17.25 per hour. Candidates must have open flexibility to work from 6:00am to 12pm and must be available to work weekends and holidays. Benefits Free Parking at the hotel during scheduled shifts ($200 value) Sick Pay and Holiday Pay (while working holiday after 90 days) Room Discounts with any Marriott Brand Hotel (31 different brand globally) Additional Room Discounts for select hotels within portfolio Slip resistant shoes provided 401K Retirement Benefits with 4% match and immediate 100% vesting (Transamerica) JOB DUTIES: Greet the guests, take all food and beverage orders Follow all brand standards set forth by Marriott Brand Standards Follow standard operating procedures for servers Answer restaurant calls as needed Upsell food and beverage Bus tables as needed Deliver food Ensure cleanliness in your station Maintain a clean dining area at all times Responsible for receiving all payments and proper cash, CC and Room Charge procedures Perform necessary opening/closing and side work duties Prepare food items for guests such as dishing up oatmeal, soup, making toast, dinner salads, bread, etc. Run food Ensure all equipment is in operational order and all supplies are up to par. Report equipment that needs repair or supplies that need to be ordered Be familiar with the operating procedures of all other areas of the hotel, cooperating fully and in a friendly manner with those areas to assure customer satisfaction Be a Team Player and encourage the teamwork attitude among staff Attend department and inter-departmental meetings Notify management of any pertinent information related to shift activities Be knowledgeable in all hotel emergency procedures Ensure areas are free of safety hazards and performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner Ensure total guest satisfaction Follow supervisor's instructions and perform other duties as directed or assigned Be knowledgeable regarding hotel activities including groups in house and VIP guests JOB REQUIREMENTS: At least 1 year customer service experience preferred Prior experience as a server required, preferably in a fast-paced environment Micros systems knowledge a plus Must be able to pass drug screening and background check The San Diego Marriott Gaslamp Quarter provides equal employment and affirmative action opportunities to applicants and employees without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status or disability.
