Assistant Kitchen Manager position available at our Downtown and South Asheville locations:

We are a neighborhood burger joint serving 100% grassfed burgers. Our chefs partner with local farmers and ranchers to create a menu grown by the community. Whether we're creating a burger topped with our pork belly or finding a creative way to use this year's heirloom tomatoes, we bring our passion to the table.

Job Types: Full-time (40-50 hours per week)

Pay: $18 - $20 per hour

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year kitchen management experience
  • S trong leadership skills and able to communicate effectively in a high volume, fast-paced
  • environment
  • Experience with inventory management software a plus
  • Familiarity of working with whole animals and off cuts a plus

Assistant Kitchen Manager Job Description :

The assistant kitchen manager is responsible for supporting the Kitchen Manager (KM) and training other BOH team members, maintaining Health Compliance and inventory, working with food and advising the KM on orders.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Hands-on managing a staff of 20 people
  • Engaging in the training of new staff
  • Building relationships with local farmers and creating specials showcasing local ingredient
  • Managing food costs with proper purchasing, recipe/portion-size maintenance, and waste management
  • Writing and enforcing schedules for proper labor cost control
  • Adhering to health code protocols and maintaining a well-organized, clean kitchen space
  • Taking inventory and managing proper par levels
  • Expediting lunch/dinner services while monitoring food quality and team efficiency
