Job Description: Production Kitchen Cook Assistant Company: American Spoon Location: Preservation Kitchen, 1668 Clarion Ave, Petoskey, Michigan American Spoon has immediate openings in our Production Kitchen for the position of Cook Assistant. Job Details: Start Date: Immediate Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 7:30 am-5:00 pm, hours vary seasonally Responsibilities: Assist lead cooks in producing our award-winning jams, jellies, condiments, and preserves. Perform various tasks throughout the production kitchen, including seasonal fruit processing, dishwashing, and prep work. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs several times a day and stand for long periods. Capability to work in a fast-paced environment for periods up to four hours without stopping. Proficiency in basic math. Knowledge of food preparation and/or food safety is preferred but not required; we will train the right person. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus. One year of consecutive work experience is preferred. Reliable transportation to and from work. Positive attitude and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
